Ayotte Statement on FCC Vote to Approve Burdensome Internet Regulations

Statement

Date: Feb. 26, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) released this statement following the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) vote today to approve harmful new federal regulations on Internet traffic:

"Since its inception, the Internet has served as a shining example of how a hands-off regulatory framework can lead to massive job creation and unprecedented growth. Unfortunately, the Obama administration has decided to reverse course and subject the Internet to archaic, utility-style regulations that were created nearly 80 years ago. I oppose the FCC's decision to pass 317 pages of burdensome regulations that will stifle innovation and discourage investment in areas of New Hampshire that desperately need broadband deployment."
